Drill, impact drill or angle grinder: which tool for which job?
The right power tool saves time and protects your work. Here's a quick guide.
- Drill machine: holes in wood, metal and plastic, and driving screws. Good for furniture, fittings and light jobs.
- Impact drill (hammer drill): adds a hammering action for brick and concrete. Use it for wall plugs, anchors and site work.
- Angle grinder: cutting and grinding metal, tile and stone, and smoothing welds. Fit the right disc and keep the guard on.
- Safety first: wear eye protection and gloves, and unplug the tool before changing a bit or disc.
